Description

  • Old Town Mtskheta is one of the most important archaeological and spiritual landmarks in Georgia. As the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Iberia and the present-day center of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Mtskheta offers a unique journey through more than 2,000 years of history.
  • During the tour you will visit:
  • Mtskheta – One of the oldest cities in Georgia, located just outside Tbilisi. It served as the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC until the 5th century AD.
  • Jvari Monastery – A magnificent 6th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched high above the city, it offers breathtaking panoramic views over the spectacular confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers, where their differently colored waters meet. This masterpiece of early medieval architecture is one of Georgia's most iconic landmarks.
  • Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – Built in the 11th century on one of Georgia's holiest Christian sites dating back to the 4th century. As the country's second-largest cathedral and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered one of the greatest monuments of Georgian architecture.
  • Samtavro Monastery – An 11th-century monastery complex that houses the tombs of King Mirian III and Queen Nana, who established Christianity as the official religion of Georgia. It is also the resting place of the beloved Georgian monk Saint Gabriel.
  • Georgian Wine Degustation – Enjoy a tasting of traditional Georgian wines and discover the country's 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition.
  • Scenic Boat Cruise
    (NEW)
    – Relax on a peaceful boat ride surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Mtskheta. Experience the magical scenery of the famous confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers from the water, offering a completely different perspective of this historic landscape.
